- Hold (checked baggage)
- RestrictedChecked pets use the climate-controlled baggage compartment, subject to aircraft, weather, breed and travel-date restrictions. Reserve space with the operating airline.
- Manifest cargo
- RestrictedPet Connect freight is available for animals traveling without a passenger; confirm the route, dates, kennel and capacity with Alaska/Hawaiian Air Cargo.

Routes Alaska Airlines flies with pets
This is what Alaska Airlines offers on each route. An airline can offer less than the rules allow.
Hold means checked baggage. Manifest cargo is a separate booking, even when the animal travels in the same aircraft hold.
| Route | Cabin | Hold (checked baggage) | Manifest cargo | Fee from | Snub-nosed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States → Hawaii, dog | 100 USD | ||||

Notes
Only soft carriers are accepted in the cabin, up to 17 × 11 × 9.5 inches. The carrier must be leak-proof, ventilated and fit under the seat without losing its shape while occupied.

Book the passenger ticket, then contact the operating airline to reserve the pet allocation. An ordinary passenger reservation alone does not reserve pet space.
All routes (dogs and cats)
Alaska/Hawaiian do not transfer checked pets to other carriers. Claim and recheck with the connecting airline; Hawaii interline transfers are not permitted.
All routes (dogs and cats)
Reserve domestic Pet Connect freight at least 24 hours before travel and at most 30 days before travel. Separate rules apply to itineraries involving other airlines or international travel.
